NCCS, the developer of NCL multi-axis machining software, used extensively in the aerospace, automotive and turbo-machinery industries, will be participating in the WESTEC 2010 Exposition taking place March 23 through March 25, 2010 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. NCCS (Booth #2149) will showcase the latest version of their flagship product NCL V9.8 as well as other state-of-the-art manufacturing solutions including PostWorks, an advanced multi-axis universal postprocessor and NCL/Machine Simulator which provides high performance, realistic, simultaneous material removal and CNC machine tool simulation. Among many others, NCL V9.8 includes the following enhancements that will reduce programming time and increase tool path efficiency:
New Features
- Smart Forms remember the size and location of input dialogues to optimize screen space, make it easier to select graphical data, and conform to the preferences of individual users.
- New 'Entity Data' selections allow users to pick geometry and tool path entities and easily modify their attributes or make changes to the method of creation.
- Enhanced the attribute data associated with the cut model during material removal simulation allowing the user to easily trace and modify the tool path operation responsible for any given cut.
- Improved storage of tessellated data dramatically improves the speed of roughing tool path calculations, especially on large complex models.
- 5-axis corner reduction performs 'rest material' machining using 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-axis motion.
- Enhancements to the Aerospace Application Library (AAL) include unique routines for high-speed roughing and finishing of sculptured surfaces.
- Enhancements to the Turbo-Machinery Application Library (TAL) include improved 5-axis high-speed roughing strategies for impellers and integrated blisks.
- Enhancements to the Tire Mold Application Library (TMAL) include a 5-axis roughing strategy which follows a series of revolved surfaces leaving a consistent amount of excess stock for efficient finishing.

- NCL/MS - Machine Simulation software that aids in detecting errors on the spot aiding in the machining of complex 5-axis moves and/or high-speed machining.
- PostWorks - a 2 through 10-axis Universal Postprocessor with over 15 years of improved capability built into the software.
