Newport Beach, CA March 24, 2003 NCCS announces its participation in the WESTEC 2003 Advanced Productivity Exposition (APEX), taking place on March 24-27, 2003 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, California.
Visitors to the NCCS booth, number 3479, will see the latest in multi-axis machining technology which will include demonstrations of NCL/IPV, a state-of-the-art NC simulation and verification module. In addition, NCCS will also be demonstrating its unique application as it is used within the NCL CAM program.

"WESTEC sets the pace for the machine tool and metalworking industry in this area", said Robert W. Conway, V.P. of Sales and Marketing at NCCS. "It provides us with the ideal opportunity to showcase our latest technology."
"NCCS has implemented hundreds of new features and enhancements to our products", said Mr. Conway. Some of the new features that will be demonstrated include:
An all new, fully integrated, NC simulation and verification module known as NCL/IPV (in-process-verification). NCL/IPV includes the following features:
- The ability to quickly dynamically rotate, zoom, and pan the cut part during the tool path simulation
- Simulates form tools and holders
- Automatically detects tool path errors, including: rapid cuts, tool holder collisions, and collisions with clamps and fixtures.
- Advanced inspection features include the ability to measure thickness, volume, depth, gaps, distances, hole diameters, and corner radii.
- The ability to compare the cut part with an as-designed solid model or with individual NURBS surfaces.
NCL/IPV, In-Process-Verification interactively stimulates, verifies, and displays the metal removal process of NC tool paths as they are being created. During and after the metal removal process, the cut model can be viewed from any orientation, cross-sectioned, inspected, and compared to an existing solid model.
